Imperialism

Imperialism is the domination by one country of the political, economic, of cultural life of another country or region.

Africa-
-France, Germany, and Britain were the main imperialism powers in Africa.
-Before the invasion in Africa, there were over 800 different languages and many different cultures.
-Africa has been the victim of imperialism for many years.

Economing Benefits-

1. European countries did not primarily invest in colonies.
2. Raw materials were the biggest investment in economic benefits.
3. European countries did the biggest deal of business with eachother.

Causes of Imperialism-

1. The desire to spread Christian values.
2. Nationalism.
3. Paternalism.
4. Humanitarianism.
5. Expanded markets.

• Imperialism is the policy of nations that are taking over less developed nations so that they can increase economically and politically.

• Starting around the 1800's, the world had been familiar to European Imperialism for about 400 years.

• Throughout these 4 centuries, the Spanish, Portuguese, Dutch, French, and British colonies have followed one another.
